"THE GMHL"

The Great Midwest Hockey League (GMHL) is regarded as one of the top conferences in the country as it has been home to the last five National Champions.  Oakland University, who is now ACHA Division I, won the title in '03-'04 and '05-'06 and Michigan State University brought home the title in '04-'05 and '06-'07 and in '07-'08, Davenport brought back its first ever Championship. Grand Valley State joined the GMHL in 2006-2007 to replace the outgoing Oakland University.

The GMHL consists of eight (8) teams from around the Great Lakes, who come from the Central and South East Regions according to the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).  The teams that make up the league are: Davenport University (Grand Rapids, MI), Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI), Grand Valley State (Allendale, MI), Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), Miami University (Oxford, OH), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI), Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI) and Ohio State University (Columbus, OH).
